- Microsoft 365 changes, and Copilot @ AskWoody - 2025-02-24 -|- AskWoody subscription
- In January 2025, Microsoft radically changed the prices and features of the Microsoft 365 consumer plans (by 43%). Both Microsoft 365 consumer plans now include a very limited form of Copilot AI integrated into the main Office apps. There’s a monthly quota on Copilot’s use of the new AI Credit system.
- "Microsoft 365 Classic Personal" and "Microsoft 365 Classic Family" retain their current annual prices (US$69.99 and US$99.99, respectively) and do not include the Copilot features. Classic plans are not sold at retail. They appear as an option only when a customer tries to cancel their Microsoft 365 Personal or Family plan.
- "My general advice is to keep your existing Microsoft 365 plan" (for now). Options to disable Copilot are coming. Watch out for fine print in future Microsoft announcements that quietly say that a feature won’t be in Classic-plan software. In the meantime, disable Copilot in each individual app.
- Classic plans are not sold at retail. They appear as an option only when a customer tries to cancel a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family plan. Use the button "Switch plan" under "CURRENT SUBSCRIPYION WITHOUT AI".
- You can see your "AI credit balance" online on a Microsoft account page. The AI credit balance doesn’t appear within any Microsoft 365 app. Copilot Pro with unlimited AI Credits is US$20 a month.
- Disable Copilot: File | Options | Copilot (for Mac: Preferences | Authoring and Proofing Tools | Copilot) | Enable Copilot (uncheck this box to disable the Copilot option)
or: File | Options | Copilot | Enable Copilot (uncheck this box to disable the Copilot option)
- The choice applies to each app individually, meaning it’s possible to have Copilot in Word but disabled in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Disabling / Blocking / Uninstalling/Removing Copilot

- Gpedit.msc > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Copilot

- How to Sync Outlook Signatures Across Devices: An Easy Guide
- 2022-10-25 - Can I sync my Outlook signature to other devices? As of now, the only Outlook signatures that sync are those you create on Outlook.com. If you only use Outlook in your web browser, your signature is automatically synced with your account. Just sign in to Outlook.com anywhere in the world and you'll see the same signatures. However, these signatures do not sync to Outlook for desktop or the Outlook mobile apps.
Open Outlook on the computer that has the signature. If you want to use the same Outlook signature from your desktop installation on another computer, you'll need to copy and paste it into a new signature. The easiest way to do this is to send yourself an email from the computer that has the correct signature, open that email on the new computer, and then copy that signature into a new signature file.
