- Blame Canada - by Timothy Snyder - Thinking about...
- This is the magic of the big lie, as Hitler explained in Mein Kampf. Tell a lie so big, advised Hitler, that people will not believe that you would deceive them on such a scale.
- In 1939, Hitler and his propagandists piled up the fictions about Poland. They pretended that Poland did not really exist as a state, but also that Poland was the aggressor and had started the war. Compare this to Trump's aggressive attitude against Ukraine and Canada.
- Canada was not even mentioned in the official 2024 National Drug Threat Assesment of the Drug Enforcement Administration. As the Canadians are often too polite to point out, the real problem at the border is the illegal smuggling of American guns into Canada.

- Egotism - Wikipedia
- Egotist has an overwhelming sense of the centrality of the "me" regarding their personal qualities.
Egotists have a strong tendency to talk about themselves in a self-promoting fashion, and they may well be arrogant and boastful with a grandiose sense of their own importance. Their inability to recognise the accomplishments of others leaves them profoundly self-promoting; while sensitivity to criticism may lead, on the egotist's part, to narcissistic rage at a sense of insult.
- "Never apologize, never retreat" (source? Roy Cohn?). It was Trump who erased “shame” from the political vocabulary.
- Deflect and distract, never give in, never admit fault, lie and attack, lie and attack, publicity no matter what, win no matter what, all underpinned by a deep, prove-me-wrong belief in the power of chaos and fear.

- "Malignant narcissism is a psychological syndrome comprising a mix of narcissism, antisocial behavior, sadism and a paranoid outlook on life.
Some signs include: a sense of entitlement; a significant need for attention, admiration and recognition; an inflated sense of self-importance; a tendency to take advantage of others or exploit people for personal gain; arrogant or conceited behavior and attitudes; a tendency to react angrily when others don’t seem to regard them with the admiration they need and feel they deserve; a pattern of irresponsible, arrogant or disrespectful behavior; disdain for authority and social norms, shown by continued illegal or law-breaking behavior; a pattern of deceit; little or no remorse for harmful or illegal actions; and a generally hostile, irritable, aggressive, restless or agitated mood.
