Binary Code to Circuit States
The “on” and “off” states of each of the many thousands or millions of circuits within a processor are represented by binary digits, or bits.
Since there are only two binary digits (0 and 1), a bit can only have one of two values (0 or 1).
The term digital refers to anything pertaining to bits.
A device that accesses data and instructions in the forms of bits, as does a processor, is called a digital device.
